I started CleanRun in 2013 after watching too many Scottsdale homeowners get a low teaser price that ballooned once the van was in the driveway. My background is in HVAC installation and commercial air balancing, not sales. I still ride along on jobs when we’re working unfamiliar architecture, like the flat-roof ranch homes in McCormick Ranch where attic access means cutting through a closet ceiling. I sign off on every written price before it goes to the customer, and I personally review any photo record where the camera showed something unexpected. I don’t decorate. If the plenum has two inches of compacted desert dust and pollen, I say two inches, show the photo, and we move on to the fix.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been running negative-pressure extraction systems for eleven years, the last six with CleanRun. He’s certified on the Rotobrush brush-and-vac system and the Nikro portable HEPA units, and he’s the one we send when a Scottsdale customer calls about a previous company that “cleaned” the ducts but left the plenum untouched. Marcus carries a borescope with a 4K feed, so customers watch live as he documents the first elbow. Off the truck, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles in a garage near Old Town. He’ll tell you the two skills share the same patience: you can’t rush a seized bolt, and you can’t rush a duct run with a 3-inch debris build-up at the first elbow.

Elena came to us from commercial HVAC retrofit work in Phoenix, where she spent seven years sealing duct systems in schools and medical offices. She holds manufacturer training on Abatement Technologies containment systems and Honeywell whole-home air purifiers, and she’s our go-to for Scottsdale’s older homes in Paradise Valley Village where original ductwork from the 1980s is held together with failing tape and hope. Elena is direct about what she finds. Last March, she opened a return plenum in a Cactus Corridor home and found a collapsed flex duct that had been dumping attic air into the system for years. Darnell answers the phones and schedules every Scottsdale job, and he’s the voice you’ll hear when you call (928) 267-0992. He’s been with CleanRun since 2017, which means he’s heard every variation of “How much does this actually cost?” and “Why is this quote half the price?” His job is to explain Haven Standard Clause 1 in plain terms: we deliver a written price before any work starts, every time, no exceptions. Darnell also coordinates the Free Second Opinion program. Bring us a competitor’s written estimate, and he’ll book a time for Tomas to put our number next to it, line item by line item. He was born in Scottsdale, graduated from Coronado High School, and still lives in South Scottsdale. He knows which neighborhoods have the hard water that calcifies humidifier pads and which HOAs require advance notice for service vans.
Sofia R., Apprentice Technician
Sofia joined us in 2024 after completing her HVAC fundamentals certificate at Gateway Community College. She’s apprenticing under Marcus on the Rotobrush and Nikro systems, and she’s already certified on the Guardsman duct sealing equipment we use for Aeroseal-style repairs. Sofia handles the pre-job walkthroughs and post-job photo record assembly, which means she’s the one making sure every before-and-after image is labeled by duct run and delivered to the customer before we leave the driveway. She grew up in a family that restored mid-century homes in the Scottsdale Ranch area, so she’s unusually comfortable crawling attics with tight access and original construction. She’s also the reason we started carrying knee pads in extra-small.
